Kindergarten Round Up.

Yesterday Dylan got to tour his new school, they had the present kindergarten class come and sing a song to them, then they took the kids to the library while the parents filled out all the paperwork. Dylan had a blast and best of all his friend Corina was there with him. It is so hard to believe we have a kindergartner. The years seemed to drag for so long then one day we snapped out of this trance and we have a young man, no longer a baby. Everyday has it challenges, how will you handle this and that and pray that you make the right choices. (God I place my son in your hands, mold him into the man you have made him to be. Let him cry out to you in his challenges and growth. Protect his heart and claim it for your own.)

Happy Phone Number Day.

videoDylan had to learn his phone number for school, his teacher was concerned that he had not memorized it yet. So we took a day off from school and had a picnic at the park and played all day, singing our phone number to the tune of Speed Racer. At the end of the day as I was tucking Dylan into bed I was telling him the importance of knowing your phone number. I told him that if he could remember his number we could have a party to celebrate and he could pick what I would make for dinner. He said he wanted a cake with candles and Daddy to blow up balloons, then he sang me his phone number. Well a promise is a promise and we had to make good on it, so on Friday I made a cake and we invited some friends and the Grandparents over to celebrate. We also let Dylan know that he would not get a party every time he learned something, that sometimes learning is the reward. It was tons of fun, and I know Dylan felt proud, and Ian well he's just trilled to have cake.

Red Rangers!

The boys got some money in their Easter eggs and we decided to put that money in a savings account. Our bank has a great children's program called the Red Rangers. They will get rewards when their account reaches certain amounts, and the boys will learn how the save instead of spend. They were both excited to make their first deposits, but Dylan lost patience while waiting for his account to be set up. He put his elbows on the Bank managers desk and palms on his cheeks and said this is taking FOREVER. It did take forever but I was not going to say that. You got to love kids and their honesty.

Easter

This Easter was so special because Dylan really got what Easter is about this year. He knows that Jesus died on the cross to give us new life, and that while the Easter basket and eggs are fun it is all about Jesus. We had a great time with both our family's, and the boys have enough candy to last a life time, or about five minutes once I send it to Jeff's work. Ian was all about the candy he would not eat anything after he had candy given to him by everyone, nor could he be bothered with potty training we went through six outfits this Sunday. So no coordinating family picture this year, but it was a great time. Ian favorite thing was his stuffed lamb and Dylan loves his garden gloves, he wears then all the time.

Ian's Big Boy Bed

Ian has been in his toddler bed for about a month now and I just got him new bedding. He loves it so much he gave up blankie. Fear not he still has Bear-Bear to keep him company.

Dylan's Tee-Ball pictures

The season is over and Dylan has a new trophy for his room. He played a great second to last game getting the teams first out of the game, and also had a great base hit. By the end of the season he was pretty much done, and only batted and stood in the infield. All and all it was a great time and I can see much improvement from last year.

Batter Up!

Dylan is playing t-ball again this year he is on the Braves again too. He hates to field but is a pretty good hit. It is a non-competitive league (that means everyone hits, plays, no one gets out, and the score is not kept) These are from his second game.
